Maybe I Was Born To Run

I celebrated the spirit of 1975 on Saturday, 25 August,
I watched Bruce Springsteen’s 1975 concert on the DVD.
And? Exhilarating.

The Boss and The E Street Band,
man, are just pure Rock N Roll machines.

I’ve to admit -
my respect for The Boss has only grew.
I feel his intense passion for music,
passion to perform, passion in life.
It all comes across in real honesty.
And, he is a real talent.

If The Brits have the best quirk in words & lyrics,
The Boss has a way with musical arrangements, in my opinion.
It’s Rock N Roll on roller coaster – you get exciting surprises.

Another thing worth a mention – The Boss’ fans, the concert goers.
What’s special? Watch this.

With that, I award those who attend the above
Bruce Springsteen Barcelona 2002 Concert,
- The Best Rocking Audience.

Bruise Me Bruce, The Rock N Roll Way

Picture from Amazon

Over the weekend, went to do a little music shopping.
Bought BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’s
“Born To Run” 30th Anniversary Edition.
A 3-Disc Set -
- One Audio CD (a remaster of “Born To Run”)
- One 90 mins Documentary DVD (on the album “Born To Run”,
plus rare clips)

- One 2 hours Concert DVD (‘live’ London 1975)

Picture from Amazon

Seeing it displayed prominently on the rack,
(OK, the ‘summer sale’ rack),
I assumed this year is its 30th year.
(I was wrong)
Did a quick check on google, and I realised
it would be the 32nd year this Saturday, August 25!

Woah!

So I spent Sunday listening the CD & watching the documentary
(& the rare concert clips).

Man, eye opener, ear opener, brain opener, heart opener,
& yes, had my mouth opened too.

You see, I called myself a product from Generation Lost,
I love Rock N Roll but only learn the true spirit in recent years…
and so, having spent Sunday with The Boss,
hearing, watching, feeling his passion (& intensity),
his energy, his talent, his soul, his honesty,
and more passion, help found me missings !

Now, I am still left with the Concert DVD to watch,
but it would be so timely for me to do it this Saturday,
32 years on rocking to 32 years back, an experience I can’t wait!
So go listen some BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN on this special day.

Let’s all hail to Rock N Roll !

Here’s a youtube video featuring the London performance of
the song “BORN TO RUN” at the 1975 “BORN TO RUN Tour”

Also check out this rare & raw video featuring
a 1978 ‘live’ performance of the song.

“BORN TO RUN” (also title of) Bruce Springsteen's third album,
was a breakthrough hit and launched his career in the
U.S. & around the World.

The album's reputation has not suffered over time.
Rolling Stone’s 2003 list (most current list)
ranked “BORN TO RUN” at number 18 of
the greatest 500 albums of all time.

I'm really happy, had a great great great day.

My alter-ego holding my prized possession

While I paid for my John Lennon CD & DVD ,
I suddenly remembered my brother telling me about seeing a
promo poster for The Cure Concert 2007 in this same store a
couple of weeks ago.

So I asked the girl at the counter -
if they have any poster of The Cure that they can give me.
The girl looked confused, asked her colleague,2 of them
mumbled a bit, and disappeared into the storeroom.
A few minutes later, they emerged out with a half-A3 hard-back
promo poster of The Cure Concert 2007 !

Oh, on top of the promo poster, I am also the lucky owner of a couple
of promo postcards of The Cure, when I stumbled upon them before
my meeting earlier today.

I think tonight I will smile my way to bed while counting down
Cure for Fine City .

I'm really happy, had a great great day

My alter-ego holding my copies of the music & film.

I found the Music Soundtrack CD and the Movie DVD
of the documentary " The U.S. VS. John Lennon "
at a music store and I bought both !

Just a few weeks back,
I was complaining about the film not making to this part
of the world. Now that it's finally here in DVD, even better!
Will be listening to the CD tomorrow.
Will be watching the DVD this weekend.

Can't wait!

(Not heard about the film? Let me lead you )
